What is Quote Happens?

A free, single-page job pricing calculator for contractors and service businesses. You enter materials, other costs and subcontractors, labor hours and hourly labor cost, allocated overhead and a target profit margin, and it returns a quote price and profit per hour as you type. A second mode takes a price you already quoted and shows the margin it leaves. No account is needed. The interface is available in English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Arabic, Hindi, Simplified Chinese and Japanese. An English Excel workbook and a customer-facing PDF quote are each sold for US$1.

Record written 2026-10-07 from the vendor's submission and site. No company background or country is published.

Limitations to know

The vendor states that results are estimates based on your entries, not a guarantee of profit, and that profit is calculated after the labor cost you entered and before income tax. It is a single calculation, not an estimating system: there is no cost database, assembly library, takeoff, or saved job history in the free tool, and the 100-row job tracker exists only in the paid Excel workbook. The site is hosted on a netlify.app subdomain and publishes no company name beyond Quote Happens, no country, and no about page. The submission says the Excel workbook is English only, which matches the site. AEC Hub has not tested the product.
