What is Briq?

Briq rebuilt itself around Otto, an AI layer that reads construction documents, extracts the data, and executes work across three modules. Lead Genius covers pipeline, account intelligence, and bid pursuit. Project Genius covers live budgets, change orders, schedules, submittals, and RFIs. Accounting Genius covers progress billing, AP capture and matching, job cost, cash flow forecasting, AIA billing, and certified payroll. Otto also drives legacy systems through their own interfaces, so an ERP with no API can still be operated.

Record rewritten 2026-09-22 after Briq rebranded around Otto. briq.com now redirects to briq.ai on every path, so the previous record described a product no longer sold under that name. This is one continuous company rather than a new product: founded 2018 in Santa Barbara by Bassem Hamdy, formerly of Procore, and Ron Goldshmidt, with Otto introduced as an assistant in 2023 and promoted to the platform in 2026. Roughly $54 million raised, most recently an $8 million extension at a $150 million valuation in January 2024, reported by TechCrunch. Named customers include Turner Construction, Walbridge, and Austin Commercial.

Limitations to know

The claim that the modules replace a CRM, a project suite, and an ERP is the company's positioning rather than a documented migration path, and Briq sells connectors and interface-driving bots into the same ERPs it says it replaces. Aggregate figures disagree across its own pages, with 500 companies on the about page against 300 on LinkedIn, and $4.2 billion of project value against $12 billion of contracts. The Genius OS page advertises $250 per seat with everything included, which contradicts the pricing page. Capterra reviewers report difficult implementation and integration trouble with accounting systems, though those reviews predate this release. No independent coverage of the 2026 repositioning exists, and no named customer is paired with a measured result.
