Reality Capture
What is Photogrammetry?
Photogrammetry reconstructs 3D geometry from overlapping 2D photographs — software finds common features across images and triangulates their positions. It turns an ordinary camera or drone into a 3D capture device.
In practice
Drone photogrammetry is the workhorse of site mapping: orthophotos, terrain models, and stockpile volumes from a 20-minute flight. It trades some accuracy against LiDAR for dramatically lower cost.
